Strunjan Slovenia

The most characteristic part of the Strunjan landscape park is the 80-metre cliff composed of layers of flysch forming a massive wall. A large white cross on the top of the cliffs overlooks Moon Bay, which boasts the most spectacular sunsets. Walking along the coast you will come to the lagoon with salt pans. The salt pans in Strunjan are both the northernmost and the smallest salt pans in the Mediterranean. When the weather is good, some of the outstanding vantage points offer views extending all the way to the Bay of Trieste and Mt. Triglav. Visit the renowned Slovene climatic health resort and thalassotherapy centre on the greenest part of the Slovene coast, a place where hiking and other trails meet. The town with 2300 hours of direct sun radiation a year offers you everything needed for a tranquil holiday as well as countless possibilities for active time off.
