Welcome to the Route to the heart of Andalusia! This journey will immerse you in the diversity of landscapes, the cultural richness and the authenticity of the villages that make up this unique region. We start our journey in Comares, a village perched on top of a mountain, which offers spectacular panoramic views of the Axarquia. Its narrow streets lead us to discover the history that is hidden among its corners.
Our next stop is El Borge, where traditions and local architecture intertwine to offer an authentic experience. We continue to Moclinejo, a charming town known as "the gateway to the Raisin Route", where the mountainous landscape and the warmth of its streets invite you to discover its wine and raisin heritage. We advance to Cómpeta, "the pearl of the Axarquía", where its labyrinth of white streets, its winemaking tradition and its local crafts captivate all visitors. We arrive at Canillas de Aceituno, located in the heart of the Axarquía. This picturesque village, surrounded by olive and almond groves, invites you to lose yourself in its rural charm.
The route takes us to Alfarnate, where tranquility and natural beauty are the protagonists, offering a serene refuge among the hills. Entering La Subbética, we arrive at Fuente de Piedra, famous for its lagoon and nature reserve, home to flamingos and a unique variety of birds. We continue to Salar, where the streets and white architecture lead us to explore its rich history.
The journey leads us to Iznájar, located on a promontory next to the largest reservoir in Andalusia. The reflection of the village in the waters creates an unforgettable landscape. The route continues to Almedinilla, where history and culture merge in a tranquil setting. We explore the impressive Montefrío, in the Poniente Granadino, with its landscape dotted with olive trees and its unmistakable silhouette. Then, we arrive in Cabra, whose old town has a rich architectural heritage. We conclude our route in Cañete de las Torres, where history and modernity go hand in hand in this town in the interior of Cordoba.
The Route that takes us to the heart of Andalusia: Axarquía, Comarca de Antequera, Poniente Granadino and the Subbética is a journey that captures the essence of Andalusia. Get ready to discover the authenticity and beauty of this Andalusian region at every step of this fascinating route!
